On Tuesday, September 30^th, GRASP organized a trip to the particle accelerator in "Kernfysisch Versneller Instituut" (KVI) of the University of Groningen. Since CERN started experimenting with the Large Hadron Collider recently, it was a great opportunity to get some more information about this hot topic. We were introduced to the research centrum and got some basic information on 'the matter' by one of the group leaders, while few PhD students explained the devices they are using for their phd projects. And we saw the most cold place in whole Netherlands! For more information see the KVI website
