This time, thursday 21st January, the Grasp Movie Evening will be organized in collaboration with the Association of Chinese Students and Scholars in Groningen - ACSSG.

The movie is going to be introduced by Ning Ding:

1942 Nanking, the formenr capital city of China, has fallen into the hands of the Japanese where they established and controlled the puppet government. After various deadly attacks and military missions sabotaged by underground guerillas, it is evident that there has been leak of intelligence, and someone is working undercover for the revolutionists in the government. A group of unsuspecting officials are brought to a compound for interrogation, and as they are each served with torture and counter-intelligence tactics, they realize that no one will be able to leave until the snitch is identified, and the only way to survive is to turn on each other.... A tense game of cat and mouse ensues as the Chinese code-breaker attempts to send out a crucial message while protecting his/her own identity.

After the movie you are gall invited to go to the cantine to taste some typical traditional chinese snacks brought by Ning!

A note on the price: we want to keep the Grasp movie nights free, but we have to pay royalties to show the movies, as well as some other costs. For this reason, we will have a donation box at the movie exit. You can donate any amount you would like - if you are on a tight budget, it's also fine to skip it ;).
